In this day and age, children of all ages become overwhelmed and anxious at school. Too much stress can lead to negative behaviors, including withdrawal, mood swings, violence and poor eating or sleeping. One of the best ways to help children deal with stressful situations is to teach meditation in the classroom. Even 5 minutes of quiet meditation can help kids of all ages stay calm and respond positively in stressful, emotional situations. Schools all over the country have realized the benefits of meditation and “mindfulness” in the classroom. Daily meditation can result in a better environment in which children can flourish mentally and emotionally.
